The first communication (a Special) of Cedar Lodge 103, A.F. & A.M., was held at the town of New Chicago, now Chanute, Kansas in Masonic Hall, November 18, 1871, in the year of Light 5871, by the warrant of a charter granted by the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of the State of Kansas and bearing date, Topeks, Kansas, October 19, A.D. 1871, and the year of Masonry 5871, and under the seal and signature of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of the State of Kansas, by John M. Price, Grand Master and attested by John H. Brown, Grand Secretary

On October 25, 1937 by a majority vote of each Lodge, King David Lodge 416, A.F. & A.M., chatered February 22, 1917 was consolidated with and the chater of Cedar Lodge 103 A.F. &  A.M.

The present Temple was purchased by Cedar Lodge 103 in 1945
